Chapter One: Arrival

This is Passport chaperon Chris Barsam with news from our trip to Greensboro.  It was uneventful!  We arrived and checked in around 4:00pm, greeted by manic, red-shirted staff welcomers.

The view of downtown Greensboro from the boys' windows.

Our gang after eating a terrific dinner of chicken soft tacos, General Tso's tofu stir-fry, pasta with sauce, pizza with puff pastry crust, boneless pork chops with wild rice, cheeseburgers and fries, and a selection of desserts.  College dining is brutal!

The first meeting with all the participating churches together.  Loud and raucous, energizing and corny.  The most distant church represented is from New York City.

The Passport staff gets everyone pepped up with beach balls to hit around the room.  Our youth are the ones in the red shirts.
After the youth split up for Bible study, the official program ends with vespers which wrap up at 10:00pm.  Then the individual church groups meet for their evening devotions and we're in bed by 11:30..  Happy to report that our youth sound enthusiastic about being here, and look forward to seeing what happens tomorrow.  Me too.
